Parsing barcode data

I'm looking for a way to remove the carriage return characters and
other unwanted characters from barcode data entry. specifically in
access and excel to speed up some of the data entry.

Check your barcode reader to see it can strip the control codes.

I agree, the barcode scanner should have have option to determine any
control codes to send before or after the scan. You "set" the
scanners control code options by scanning barcodes that you get from
the manufacturers website.
