ODBC Link to SQL Server fails every day

P: n/a
Hi all,

Each new login to the PC, all the ODBC links to the SQL Server tables
with the error
"Connection failed"
SQL Server Error 10061
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][TCP/IP Sockets] Connection Open
Connection failed:
SQL State '08001'
SQL Server Error: 17
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][TCP/IP Sockets]SQL Server does not
exist or Access denied.
The ODBC links are all good, in place and have DSNS.
The strange thing is, if we then go to the "Linked Table manager" in
access, select "always prompt for new location", double click one of
the ODBC Links, then in the ODBC Control panel that opens up, select
"machine data source"
and then double click the link to our server- then everything works!
but we have to do this every time we log on... is there any other
solution to this?
