access 2003: annoying customize a shortcut menu issue

hi
i'm having a problem with the customize a shortcut menu. i read the ms
office assistance: customize a shortcut menu/delete a command or add
to a shortcut menu and followed the simple directions. i tried both
but for some reason i cannot delete the categories called "filter",
"form", etc. eventually i would like to add commands to the "custom"
category, ie commands "filter by form, "filter for:" and "filter by
excluding" options and group it under one category within custom
called "Research".

however, everytime i drag the category off of the menu, i have an "X"
instead of a "+" sign. and finally i cannot figure out where i can
rename the does this make any sense?? do i have something locked in my
shortcut menus that i cannot rename, add or delete the commands and
categories?

eventually i would like the shortcut menus to look like the following:

custom | research | commands: "filter by form, "filter for:" and
"filter by excluding"

if anyone knows why this has become a difficult task, any suggestions
would be appreciated.

thanks in advance!!! jung

Never customise a native Access menu: you don't have control
over these menu's. Instead, create a new shortcut (popup)
menu, and adjust the menu property of the form/report.

When you need to delete an item, drag it to the 'customise
menu' form, and drop it there. To add items, drag from
the 'customise menu' form to your menu. Also rename menu's
from this form.
