I created an install package with the wizard and for some reason, when
I install the package and then try to re-install the original package
or install a new package for a different application, I get the
message that:
windows installer
another version of this product is already installed. installation of
this version cannot continue. to configure or remove the existing
version of the product, use add/remove programs on the control panel.
I've included the runtime files in my install packages. Why doesn't
the windows installer know that the runtime files were previously
installed and skip that step. I shouldn't have to delete the runtime
files in between each install.
I've tried creating 2 different packages, one with runtime and the
other without runtime. But I don't think I should have to do that.
Has anyone had this problem and how did you overcome it?
Thanks for your help.
