Custom date format

P: n/a
I would like to capture time with hh:mm:ss only without a PM/AM designation.
When I create a custom date format specifying hh:mm:ss with a 00:00:00
input mask
the system automatically fills in a AM/PM designation and converts my time
to a clock.

Since I need to specify a date format for adding up the hh, mm, and ss I
don't want
to use a text field.

Any suggestions?

Are you capturing elapsed times? If so then you're going about it the
wrong way, even if you get over this hurdle you're in for a surprise
when your total time gets over 24 hours. The date/time field type is for
storing a point in time.
