getting query result to show in sub form.

Sue
I have a main form based on a member list, so that I can add details.
I also have a query which takes its parameters from a textbox on the
form to search for a surname so that I can delete the record.
I want the result of the query to display in a subform before I delete
it- but cannot get it to do this. Have used the subform wizard and
matched records by Surname- what am I doing wrong here?

My guess is that you are missing an After Update event for the search box.

If you show the Form HEader (under VIEW), then use the wizard to build a
combo box, one of the options will be...
Find a record based on the user selection....or something like that...
use the wizard then take a look at the code...
The nice thing too about using a combo box is that you will only have choice
of existing names..therefore never an empty search..

I would then have a button on the subform to DELETE THIS RECORD....with the
obligatory ARE YOU SURE message.
