HI--I have 2 tables
Cut: cut ID, HistNumb, Block, date: Cut Id is the primary key, the other 3 fileds are indexed to be
unique
Slides: Cutid SlideID, and various other fields: there can be multiple slide records per CutID.
This table is a subdatashet of the Cut table--so the CutId is stored in it
I have a form based on a query between the 2 tables for adding slide records
What I need to do is take either a list of manually entered, or an excel sheet, of (30-50) Histnum,
Block, and date records to call up just those matching cut records to create slides for. There are
5000 records in the slide table so to filter by form is cumbersome. What i want to do is call only
the list of records I need to appear on the slide form for editing. These are not contigous records.
One idea I had was for an unbound form where the 30 records from the Cut table are entered manually
and then opening the slide form to just those records. Can I do this with a query? I canot figure
how to join the temp table to the query based form however, because an outer join makes the record
not updateable. Any help would be appreciated and will supply more info if needed.
thanks
bob
