muddle with security

Hello everyone and thanks for your help in advance.

I have gotten myself in a muddle with security.

I was playing on a database and set myself up as a user. I didn't
enter a password but every time i open any database now it asks for
one.

I hit ok and the database loads but it is very annoying.

I have tried to find a place to remove the user but can't find it.

--------------------------------------------
I am also trying to convert a 97 database but it won't let me because
It says i don't have permission. This happens when i try and open the
unconverted database.
I am assuming the database author has set a database password. I have
never used the database so i don't know it, but it doesn't ask for a
password anyway it just says i don't have permission to convert.

Please help if you can.

What you have to do here is join the default workgroup. To do this is Access
2000, click on Tools, Security, then Workgroup Administrator. Once it loads
up, click on Join and then Browse. To find the file, do a search for files
with the extension .mdw. The one you are looking for is system.mdw

Try creating a new blank database and then import all the items (tables,
queries, forms etc) from the database you are trying to convert.

Mark:

Thanks heaps. I couldn't use your suggestion but you put me on the
right track. For that you are a star! The solution was to create a
new workgroup and to join up to it.

I haven't tried your suggestion for the conversion problem but will do
as soon as I can :)
