Transfer Text from Union Query

Using Transfer Text macro to create comma-delimited file of the
results of union query. Underlying queries use \(999") "999\-9999! to
format area code/phone number and work fine, but once the queries are
combined in the union query, the formatting is stripped out. Any way
I can add this formatting to either the transfer text function or to
the union query? Thx

In the SELECT clause of the query use the Format() function to format
the phone number. E.g.:

SELECT Format(PhoneNumber, "(###) ###-####")
FROM Table1

UNION ALL

SELECT Format(PhoneNumber, "(###) ###-####")
FROM Table2

Assumes PhoneNumber is a Text/Varchar/Char data type.
