How do I run a sumation matching database.......

Hello,
I am attempting to build some type of database through Access that
will randomly take various dollar amounts from one column and match
them with a total dollar amount in another column. I deal with
accounts that have dollar amounts that are returned to me in
'batches'. I am spending a great deal of time doing trial and error
adding on my adding machine in order to try to find out which items on
one report combine to formulate grand totals on another report... Any
help would be appreciated!!!!!!!
