Change the field name

Ray
I tried to change the field name in a query using "New Name: [Field
Name]". It did not work at all and just display the caption of the
Field Name. Is it possible to change the field name or use a new
caption in query?

Thanks,

Ray

Use "as" in the query. Something like:

select field1 as newname from mytable

It should work. Is this by chance what you see when you open a form that is
set to datasheet view that is based on the query in question. If so and you
added this name heading to the query after you designed the form the result
will not show. If you form has an attached label to the control type the
name you want to appear as the column heading into the label. If there
isn't a label type the name you want to appear as the column heading in the
Name of the control or after changing your query, open your form, delete the
controls and re-add them. Hope this helps.
