Thanks, Alan, but I think the explanation is different, having experimented
further. I should say that this situation arises when running Access XP. I'm
trying to work through an MSDN article 'Implementing MS Access 2000
Client/Server Databases'
(
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...-us/dnapg/html
/apg01.asp) which I guess has Access 2000 screen-grabs and shows views and
stored procedures listed as separate object-classes in the database window.
In XP, however, things seem to be presented differently: stored procedure
objects are listed under Queries but with a different icon, and are created
not via Insert | Stored Procedure but by selecting Queries in the database
window, then New, then either Design Stored Procedure or Create Text Stored
Procedure.

Dave,
It's a permissions issue. Check and make sure the account you are loggin
in to has the right permissions to modify the design of objects in the
database.

news:1a**************************@posting.google.c om... I've just installed SP3A on MSDE 2000 since when any projects I open
have a database window which (under 'Objects') lists Database
Diagrams, but not Views or Stored Procedures. Has anyone else seen
this and, more to the point, found a cure?
