Pasting records in Access front end using MySQL backend

Using MS Access XP standard install (no Jet or MDAC updates applied
yet) as front end, MySQL 4.0 as backend and MySQL ODBC connector
version 3.51.

When pasting multiple records into the database either in a form or
directly in the table, all records / fields display #deleted in each
column. This only happens when pasting multiple records, if a
single record is pasted, the #deleted comment does not appear. When
I refreash the view, the information that was pasted now appears.

I do already have a timestamp field in the table to accomodate
this 'error' but it appears that this work around only works on the
single record pastes.

Does anyone have a work around for this, or is this a limitation of
the Access / MySQL / ODBC setup?

Is it possible to detect when records have been pasted into the form so that
I can force a refresh of the data after the paste occurs?

Thanks for any help you can provide,

Mike.

Is the following of any assistance?

There is a section titled "When I insert or update a record in linked tables, I get
#Deleted#. How do I overcome from this ?"

Tony,

Thanks for the response. I have poured over the FAQ from MySQL and have
determined that I already have all of their recommendations in place. This
will only help when you are pasting / entering in single records. When
pasting multiple records, these work arounds do not work. I believe the
problem acutally lies in how Access and MySQL differs regarding autonumber
fields. In an Access table, the autonumber is automatcally updated as soon
as you type in the record. In a MySQL table, the autonumber does not appear
until after the record has been udpated. I will have to keep playing with
it to see if this is actually the cause of the problem.

Has anyone else had any experience with this type of 'error'?

Thanks,

Mike.

Then that's all I know.

FWIW SQL Server works the same as MySQL in this respect.
