combo box (optional add to list ) - Microsoft Access / VBA

I need to create a combobox that allows users the option to add
entries to the dropdown list. I don't want every new entry to to be
added to the combobox list, just the more comman ones. Is this
possible?

If the combo's bound column is visible (not zero-width), this article
explains how to use its NotInList event to ask for user confirmation before
adding the new data to the look up table:
