In my applikation I have images in a separate folder and those images are
linked to the database by using code. One customer who is running the
applikation by using Access Runtime claims that the imigaes want show
unless MS Office is installed on the client.
He has the applikations two databases (object.mdb and tables.mdb) on a
server and only Access Runtime on the client.
As I understand Access Runtime is totally independent of any other
programs - or???
Please advice.
best regards

Are you displaying these in a control within Access? If so, you need to
realize that Access does not render any of the images by itself. It needs a
program to act as an automation server. For example if the image were a
bitmap you would usually be ok because virtually all computers have a
program on them that can render a bitmap. If it is a TIFF or JPEG then you
will need some software on the PC that is capable of rendering those kinds
of files.
Your customer probably doesn't need to install Office per se, but he has to
install *something* to make the images work and Office is likely installing
a component that fills that need.
