Using mdb databases

I created an mdb database for addresses, and now am having trouble
using it.

I don't have Access.

I have Windows XP and am using Word.

I want to import the database into Word so that I can print it. It
was created using the same XP program.

I try to use File Open in Word to open the new .mdb file, and it comes
up with gobbletygook.

I can make it work in Excel. What can I do to make it work with Word,
or must I use Excel then go into Word from there?

Kathryn,

Opening an MDB file in Word (using File.. Open) is known to permanently
corrupt the MDB file. If your MDB file is still OK, that's good, but don't
Open it in Word any more.

I don't know a lot about using Word to access the data in an MDB file, but
it's along the lines of using Microsoft Query to get at the data. See
Word's Help file on this.

Depending on your printing needs, printing it from Excel can be fine, too.

Hope this helps,

Anne Nolan
