Any Add-on for this?

Hello friends,

I am very much new to MS Access and having bought a new PC with MS Access 2003
on it cannot wait to use it. I am looking for an add-on for Access that will
enable me to manage our small office sales. Till we get a client, process his
orders and until payment and delivery we need to have all the details in front
of us at a click. The client base can be big later on - so the add shall be very
good.

Any help and suggestion will be very much appreciated.

Take a look at MVP Tony Toews' site http://www.granite.ab.ca/accsmstr.htm.
He has a comparison of some packages that many find very helpful.

From my own knowledge, you might take a look at the offerings of "Database
Creations, Inc", http://www.databasecreations.com. They have an Access
database for running a business -- they advertise a good deal more
capability than you describe, but compared to creating custom software, a
"canned" application is likely to be a bargain. I have NOT used, and thus,
cannot personally endorse this package, but have heard some good feedback
about it.

There are some very good non-Access-based packages available for sales,
orders, tracking, etc., as well.

Not Access. Intuit's QuickBooks or the small business version of Peachtree.
And there is no add-in. Accounting software is a whole category of
software. No simple add-in will do what you want. But, there are template
databases that ship with Access which you can get started with. And the
Small Business Tools that Microsoft started shipping with Office 2000 has
stuff that will help. But go get some real accounting software. It's worth
the money.
