VBA.Trim() and long varchar columns

This looks like a bug in the Trim() function (observed in A2003):

You may bind a disconnected ADO recordset based on a SQL Server stored
procedure to a form. There is a non-null varchar field in the recordset
that is longer than 256 characters, and you bind that field to a text box
named txtBox. At this point, the expression Trim(Me.txtBox) will return N
last characters of the string in the text box, where N is the remainder of
Len(Me.txtBox)/256.

Has anyone seen anything like this under other circumstances than outlined
above (DAO recordset vs ADO, connected recordset vs disconnected one,
etc.)?
