Hi all

I want a query that will return from a series of candidates and votes
for a number of positions, the top three candidates for each position.

I can of course, return the top candidate for each position, or the
top three polling candidates for any position... Anyone got any
bright ideas?

Have you tried joining a query that returns a single record for each
position with a query that returns the top three for a given position on the
unique identifier(s) for position? That would seem to be the simplest
approach.
