Listboxes and long items

P: n/a
Hello,
I have created a listbox with some long items, even 3000 characters.
When I add a new item, sometimes I get an error, but sometimes it
generates an error with items of 500 characters, sometimes it does not
generate an error with items of 2500 characters.

Thus I can not write code like

if len(c)<2500 then list1.additem c

because there seems not to exist a maximum length.

How can I solve the problem?

Best regards,

Giulio

Rather than AddItem, bind the listbox to a table with those items.
Or use a subform to do the same.

Hello Tom,
thank you for your kind reply, you could be right: in fact there could
be a maximum size for the total of all strings in the listbox. I will
try to bind the listbox to a table.

GS
