the strangest problem

Hi,

This happened a while back but never since, until now. When in the sql view
of MS Access (2002) and I try to edit the text, quite often random
characters get inserted, and other characters in the text switch about!
It's very odd, and the only thing I can do to solve it is editing the query
in notepad and copying and pasting it back in.

Has this happened to anyone else? Not sure how else to describe it but it's
got me baffled.

Cheers,
Chris

I've seen this in Access 2K when an alternate font is selected for support
of Asian languages. It has no effect on the data or the SQL--it just makes
it look weird.

Sounds like an old virus to me.

I've also seen Windows problems that corrupted display of LINES of text, and
it is theoretically possible to have similar problems corrupt display of
individual characters, but I think virus infection is more likely.
