Acc97: Code Will Not Compile on Another Machine

P: n/a

I have an MDE database that stores all 17000000 UK Postcodes. This
database also includes a custom function and data type to return map
grid coordinates for a given postcode.

I have set a reference to this database from another database and I
have created a Public Variable using my custom data type. On my PC
this works fine and I can compile the code or create an MDE file for
the client database. It does not seem to matter if I have the Postcode
MDE file on my PC or a server it works fine both ways.

If I then try and setup the client application on the users PC's I get
a Dr Watson's almost immediately. I have tried compiling the code on a
users PC and I get an error on the declaration of my variable that is
set to my custom data type. The error message states it is not a VBA

All PC's have Office 97 SR2 installed. Why does this work on my PC but
not others. No other references appear to be missing.

Any ideas anybody?

Many thanks

Tim I had a similar problem with A97, and I had to eventually compress and
clean the db up into a NEW db and it fixed the problem. I didn't however have
as many records as you do.

Create a new db and import your tables, queries, forms, macros etc into the new
db and then do a db compact and see if that fixes your problem.
