Access 97 idea files - question

Years ago I downloaded a series of files from Microsoft with lots of
practical suggestions for Access97 (which I'm still using at work).

The filenames are:
FrmSmp97 (Form ideas)
Grphsm97 (Graphs-related ideas)
Neatcd97 (VBA Code ideas)
QRYSMP97 (Query ideas)
RptSmp97 (Report ideas)

Each example has a hyperlink to the MS Knowledge Base, so you can read
the instructions on how to replicate the sample in the database
without having to dissect (sp?) the parts and search for clues. (I'm
guessing they didn't want to store the instructions IN the database
for the sake of... well, maybe keeping it up to date.)

Recently I was going through one of the samples, and clicked on the
hyperlink, only to find it doesn't work any longer. Fortunately, the
link contained the "Q Number", and with a little searching I was able
to find the relocated instructions.

My question is this: does anyone else use these files? Is anyone
aware of updated versions of these files that have the up-to-date
hyperlinks? I suppose I could try my hand at writing a script that
could do a global search/replace that (theoretically) should work.
But if anyone knows a better solution, please let me know.
For example, the database's URL for the instructions on "Automatically
Detecting If a Form Is Being Edited" is:

http://support.microsoft.com/support.../94.asp?PR=ACC

I eventually found the instructions at:

http://support.microsoft.com/default...&Product=acc97

It sure looks like the Q122/2/94.asp in the first URL is now replaced
with the ;122294 in the second URL.

You've got the right idea. Microsoft revamped their approach recently.

In actual fact, all you need (for now, at least!) is:
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=122294

Hi Dennis,

MS has the complete Access97 Knowledge Base in one downloadable .HLP file.
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=167120

Having this file stored locally means that you can search by procedure (eg.
NotInList) and open KB articles that contain relevant examples.

I use it ALL the time, and it just works great!

HTH,

Thanks guys for the links! Nice to know I'll be able to get to these
things even after MS stops supporting Office 97 entirely.

The first time I got that generic page instead of the expected
instructions, I figured this might be Microsoft's first step towards
dropping the content entirely from their site.
