A Beginner

Hi, Im a newbie who has recently started looking at using ACCESS as a means
to creating Databases for work etc.

I have noticed that within the program there are options to use Visual Basic
terminology, having been more than a little curious about this I wondered
whether there was a particular site for beginners explaining what the
language is, how to apply it for common use within Office XP - ACCESS.

I have similar interest in knowing what a Macro is and what language would
be required in order to set up a macro.

I realise the subject matter is a broad one but any help that could be given
would be most appreciated.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards

You might want to go to a bookstore and check out the computer books
section. Get something real basic like Access for Dummies...I have no
idea of it has code examples in it...and check it out. Then check out
other books that are a bit more advanced.

Are you a programmer? If not you may want to start out with macros and
then start learning VBA. I would recommend a book like MS Access
Step-by-step for learning VBA....you won't be a pro but you'll at least
know the basics and you'll have a good foundation. After that, you are
pretty much on your own...hang out here and learn. There are so many
code examples written in this newsgroup you should be able to get up to
speed fast...and if you have a question, most likely someone will
respond if the question can be understood easily.

None. A macro is something you create to perform an action. You can
click on the Macros tab, click new, and see the options available to
you. If you are confused about something when creating a macro, put the
cursor insertion on that row and press the F1 key to get further help.
I realise the subject matter is a broad one but any help that could be given
would be most appreciated.
