Combine Field from Multiple Records into One

I have a table that contains empno and qtr - it looks similar to:
0001 1
0001 2
0004 3
0004 4
0005 5
and I'm trying to make it look like:
0001 12
0004 34
0005 5

This is a parameterized query that uses values from an open form to
run the queries. I'd prefer completing this task in a query instead
of performing it in the report itself. If it can't be done in query,
then report will suffice.

Your suggestions are appreciated.
