Error Handler Wizard -- Access 97

Hi Folks,

Being the "lazy" programmer that I am, I seldom "get around to" adding error
handling to my code.

I did some searching on Google, and discovered that John Colby
www.ColbyConsulting.com and Seth D. Galitzer sg***@ksu.edu have developed a
wizard that seems to do a magnificent job of doing this with the click of a
button in Access 2002.

My understanding is that Mr. Colby had written the original Access97
version, and that Mr. Galitzer has "ported" it to VB for use with A2K & AXP.
Has anyone here ever seen (or used) the Access97 version?
More specifically ... do you know where I might find it?

I'm right in the midst of designing an Access97 project for one of my repair
shop customers, and this sure sounds like something I could use.

Hi Don,

What Terry referenced is something done by him and Dev Ashish. They are a
couple of giant Access developers.

Several years ago I was browsing around and ran into the Code Stuffer, an
Acc97 add-in, by Duane Hookom. On the click of a button it adds a comment
template and installs error handling for the current procedure; subroutine
or function, even if it's already built. That sounds like your situation.
I've been using it ever since I loaded it and haven't bothered to look
beyond it.

Yup. That will do just fine, thanks. :-)

I have to admit that I *do* use that Add-In all the time to do the "Block
Comment" thing, but had been ignoring the "Build Procedure" part of it.

I just tried it a couple of times, just now, and rec'd a "Run Time Error
3021. No Current Record." error message every time. Ignoring it (pressing
[End]) appears to generate the desired comments alright, however ...

Ah, right.

Follow these steps

Run Build Procedure
When you get the error rem out the higlighted line (.MoveFirst) and click on
the save button on the toolbar
Press F5 to continue running
Exit the Wizard

Run the Wizard again and there will be no problem.
