Hi all
I have an access database back end on the server and the front end also
on the server but with linked tables. It is still in the development
stage so i have not given any users the front end yet. I am using NT 4
and Access 97.
I appear to have a problem returning records from a particular query as
follows.
My code populates a table with staff and their shift times. The code
then searches another table (changed shift table) by date, returns
records for a particular date and updates the original table where
appropriate - ie if a particular staff member has changed their shift,
it will show in changed shift table, the code then updates their shift
times in the original table.
OK this works fine for me on my pc using my profile. However, when a
colleague opens the database from his pc using his profile, the code
does not find the relevant records in the changed shift table and
therefore does not update the original table. In addition, if i log on
as him on my pc, the code does not work. I have logged on on my pc as
other users and the code runs fine.
I am thinking that this is therefore something to do with his profile.
In addition, is the date criteria for populating the changed shift
recordset relevant?
I cannot understand this at all as we are both opening the same file
from the same place and therefore have access to the same data.
Does anybody have any idea where to start looking to solve this problem.
Many thanks
Michelle
