Deleting data in a linked table is not supported by this ISAM. (Error 3617)

Hi:

I am working with an XLS file, andhave Access 2000.

When I try and clear the xlf file (so that xls can use it for additional data), I get an
error message:
"Deleting data in a linked table is not supported by this ISAM. (Error 3617)"

What do I need to do to avoid this?

Thanks

You can't do that.....

You will have to work out a different method: Perhaps delete
the file and create a new empty file, or perhaps use Excel
Automation to clear or delete the data, or perhaps just
update all of the data to zero/blank.
