I am using MS Access to index documents (in this case material safety
data sheets), to track what departments they are used in, and to allow
users to browse the actual documents that meet some search criteria
that they have entered. The documents are indexed, linked, and kept
in a special directory. I have been asked to also provide a hard copy
of the content of the database and the linked documents, on demand.
What I would like to do is to automatically print the documents that
match the search criteria, but I can't figure out how to do it. I can
offer a print function on each individual document "hit" but I can't
find a way to print them in batches. I have tried to access the print
dialog in code but I can't find any way to automatically press the
print button or to suppress the dialog print dialog alltogether.
The links are all hyperlinks to either HTML pages, Word documents, or
PDF files. They currently open either in a browser window or in a web
control embedded on the form. I have tried printing a continuous form
with the web control embedded, but it crashes. The same thing happens
if I try to embed the web control on a report page.
I'd be grateful for any help or insights you guys may have. Thanks!
