Microsoft Access Record-Locking Information Icon

Hi-

I have a question about the Microsoft Access Record-Locking
Information Icon.

Whenever I, or my friends, open my MS Access database, the Microsoft
Access Record-Locking Information Icon appears. When we close the
Access database, the icon disappears.

However now all of the sudden, the Microsoft Access Record-Locking
Information Icon stays there when we close the database. I'm not sure
if this is a good practice, but we delete the record-locking icon
(after we close the database).

Can anybody please point me in the right direction?
