how to deploy mde

What if my access application references a few modules that may not be
referenced on the destination machine.
Will the .mde still run on the destination machine that has same version of
access, but these references not checked?

Thanks in advance

If its an MDE you cannot look at the references window -- but if the
references you put in are missing, your app may well fail.

To add to Michael's response your app will almost certainly fail. You want to use
Late Binding or alternatives to the references.

"Late Binding in Microsoft Access" page at
http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/latebinding.htm

How do you get rid of troublesome references?
http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/referencetroubles.htm

And also see Michael's own article on this topic when it comes to MDBs just to
understand things a bit better.

What references do you have?

It is the microsoft vbscript regular expressions 5.5 reference.

Is this an Access 2000 item or 2002

Thanks

Why would you need it? I suspect you don't. Write down the details, uncheck it
and see if your project will still compile.

Do you have any references besides the basic three? Are you sure you
need them? Write down the path and name of the extra ones, delete
from the references list and Compile and Save All. Keep any
necessary references and ensure they are distributed to the target
system.

For a very detailed page on reference problems see
http://members.rogers.com/douglas.j....nceErrors.html

Ctrl+G will take you into the Debug/Immediate window. Then click on
Tools on the menu bar and References.

The Access 2000 default references are:
Visual Basic for Applications
Microsoft Access 9.0 Object Library
OLE Automation
Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects 2.1 Library
or
Microsoft DAO 3.6 Object Library

The Access 2002 default references when the MDB is created in Access
2000 format are:
Visual Basic for Applications
Microsoft Access 10.0 Object Library
OLE Automation
Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects 2.1 Library

The Access 2002 default references when the MDB is created in Access
2002 format are:
Visual Basic for Applications
Microsoft Access 10.0 Object Library
OLE Automation
Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects 2.5 Library.

I don't know the details on this, but a little poking around in the
registry ought to show you how to use it with late binding. Then
your code can handle the error of it not being installed or the
wrong version or whatever.

For what it's worth, I'd never let you run something like that on
one of my machines.
