Asking for assistance

Hello Folks,

I am having a small problem and I wonder if someone might be able to assist
me.

It is with the Importing of Text files into MS-Access 2000.
It is specifically with the Importing of Text files using a defined
specification.

WHAT I DO :

1. Select FILE - GET EXTERNAL DATA - IMPORT ...
2. Navigate to the correct TextFile and click on the Import Button
3. When the Import Text Wizard launches, I click on the Advanced ... button
in the bottom left-hand corner
4. I now fill in the required specifications for the importing of the
textfile

So far so good ...

As soon as I click on the Save As... button, my changes are discarded.

I have tried this on differing hardware and under differing OS.

What am I missing ?

Thank you in advance,

Michas

It is possilbe to write a vba or a macro to automate this process. I have
written VBA routines that will search the hard drive to find specific files
or file strings *.txt or what was needed by the client.
