You don't have think like ""bluetouchpaper" <sf*****@sfgstf.com>" to
draw inspiration from a reality most only suspect, but it helps. My problem is when trying to embed or link a graphic into a table as
a bmp.I am developing an access database which has photos of clients.
When I choose the object type, created from a file I get he following
errormessage.....
"The connection with the OLE server says: the OLE server encountered
anderror or Active X control was lost".
I have search the internet for possible reasons and solutions. And
havetried everything that has been suggested. These include the
suggestionthere is a possible confliction between Norton Antivirus and any
firewallthat might be stopping script from running withing Access. I have
removedNorton 2003 antivirus and all other script stopping programs.
So now I am at a total loss how to solve this error problem.
What baffles me is that it also says the OLE has stopped?? and I
cannot findanywhere in Win2000 to restart the OLE.
Many thanks to all who reply.
I had what seems to be this very same problem. Turned out, the
program with which the pictures were originally viewed was no longer on the
machine. Once it was returned, things were back to normal.
What I still want to know is how to extract the picture info from the
.mdb. I just wanted to get the raw binary image data, but I couldn't
do it. I didn't discover any simple way, such as Export, which would
produce either the photos or their data. Does anyone know how this data is
marked in the .mdb file? More generally, can someone point me to a
specification for the mdb file format?
Thanks for your interest and reply.
