delete all suffix automatically

O
I have a field containing thousand of vehicle number plates like these:

SBP3432D
SCX845T
EP2X
QM45G
S1P

how can I delete all the suffix at one go so that the result will be:

SBP3432
SCX845
EP2
QM45
S1

Any help will be appreciated.

If it's always just the last 1 character to be dropped:
[SomeField] = Left([FieldName],Len([FieldName])-1)
