Hello Folks, I'm a Relitive newbie to the blood sport of MS ACCESS. I
have designed and built a database with multiple, Related, tables. The
db works well, more by good luck then good planing I expect. The
problem I'm faced with is being able to save certian fields from the
various tables to a floppy and then Download/Import them to an exact
copy of the database on another computer located elsewhere. This has
to be done with a floppy or other removable media (USB drive). As I
mentioned I am a newbie so if anybody has any sugestions for me I
would ask that you "put the dots close together" so that I can follow
and understand your sugestion.

Some options:
1. Just copy the entire mdb to the other location?
2. Use TransferText (or TransferSpreadsheet) to export the desired records,
and the same action to import again at the other end.
3. Use replication.
BTW, we don't believe the bit about your database working merely by good
luck. :-)

The entire datbase is at the other location its just one record, at a
time as required, that I would like to be able to download certain
fields to. These fields come from an exact copy of the data base in

Hello again, I've been trying all evening trying to creat a macro as
you suggested. So far I have a macro that runs a make table query
which makes a table containg the feilds I would like to save. It then
sendobject to mail in the form of an excell spreadsheet, upon creating
the email with the table as an attachment I open the attachment and
save the excell file to A:\drive. It sounds crazy but belive it or not
it works. However I dont belive for an instant this is what you had in
mind. To Retrive the file from A:\ I run a an appened Query that takes
the data from the "Save Table" which the Make Table query made and
appened it to that again it works but dammed if I know how. So now all
the info is now safely back in the database, sort of, so how do I get
it to actually get to the proper tables? Now that you've picked your
self off the floor from fits of laughter can you send me the correct
way to do it?

Could you just create a query that has all the right things to export?
Then use TransferSpreadsheet to export the query.
Or, if you want to email it, just SendObject.
When it arrives at the other end, use TransferSpreadsheet to import the data
again from the attachment or file.
