required + validation rule

P: n/a
Hello,

Access 2003. I have a non-key field of type 'Number'. The 'Required'
property is set to 'No'. The validation rule is '>0 Or Is Null'. The
field is not indexed.

Inserting a blank value (in my case, though an HTML form with a
ColdFusion back end) doesn't work.

I cannot figure out why this is happening. Thanks for any help.

Blank isn't valid for numeric fields. Only Numbers (or Null) are.

Thanks. I was being silly trying to insert a zero-length string.
