Updatable Queries using Access 2003

P: n/a
I have been using Access since office 4.3. I have just upgraded to Office
2003 and am having issues with creating updatable queries. If I link one
table to a selection query based on the same table, the resulting query is
not updatable. OR If I link 2 tables together that don't have a primary key
the result is not updatable.

I know I was able to do this in previous versions since I usually don't use
a primary key.

Thanks
Johnny

If it worked before without a primary key, I'd put that down to blind luck.
Access pretty much always works better if primary keys are defined.

I concur. It is not normally true that you can edit via a query that joins
tables without primary keys, but it might accidentally work sometimes.

By the way, if you don't normally use primary keys, you're not designing
normalized database schemas.
