Something strange has happened on my computer. I am unable to link tables
from SQL Server 2000. I have tried from Access 97 and 2000, but keep
getting the error "The Microsoft Jet database engine could not find the
object 'tablename'..."
I have SQL Server 7 and SQL Server 2000 installed as an instance on the same
computer. Linking has always worked fine previously, but something has
obviously changes in the meantime. I tried to cleanup the registry, played
around w/ network config. and client config, checked port numbers, etc. I
am able to link to SQL 7, just not SQL 2000 anymore, not even the Northwind
db. The ODBC DSN connects and tests fine. And I can perform these tasks on
any other computer in our office, just mine is hosed. I can connect from my
machine to another SQL Server 2000 machine, but cannot connect from another
computer to my SQL Server 2000 (which leads me to believe there is
definitely something screwy w/ my SQL 2000 instance/connectivity).
Any help will be greatly appreciated (before I have to breakdown and call
Microsoft).
Thank you,
Tom
