Last 5 items loaded

My little access app is now working happily with a "browse" button that lets
me link to a .mdb data-set for the app to work with.

Problem is, that I store various data sets on different machines on my LAN
an it's getting a bit of a pain to got via "My Network Places" every time.

I know I could make things a bit easier by mapping drives etc. but what I
would really like is a list of e.g. the last 5 files loaded on that
particular machine.

Anyone got any suggestions on this?

TIA

Create a table with a field called Path and a field called Date. Sort
ascending by date (puts newer items at bottom). Everytime the browse button
is used to connect to a db, use a recordset or an append query to add the
date and the file path to the db that was chosen.
From there, it depends on how you want to disaply the list. If in a menu,
you'll need to create a function to loop through the table, and create a
commandbutton for each item in the list. Set each Action property to either
the same thing you use to connect to the db, or create a wrapper function to
tie into it.
I don't know if this has been fixed in newer versions of Access, but I have
encountered problems with
using arguments in the functions used on commandbuttons in 97. Access tends
to not be able to "find the macro" after a while and sometimes becomes
corrupted - so I found in a case like this it's better to do something on a
form.
