default entries in ms-access

Can anyone help me with changing default options in Access.
My problem: If I have a table with say three columns and I start
introducing data '1' and '2' in the fields of the first two columns
the third column automatically is filled with '3' but I want this
field to stay clear...
I am sure the answer is just a button away... Thanks for your help.

Wish there was a way to turn this nonsense off.

You should be able to get around it by creating a form in Continuous view
(not Datasheet view).
