Using Combo Box To Lookup Record

P: n/a
I would like to use a combobox that looks up values.

For example, I want my users to be able to select a client's last name
from a combobox and then by selecting the client's last name all of
the information @ the patient is populated in the form.

What I would do is use a 3 column combo box.

The first column would be the ID of the client (same as patient?); set
its width to 0. It would be the bound column.

The second column would be the last name; set its width to whatever
you need.

The third would be for first name; again set its width to what you
need.

Use the OnChange event to drop down the combo so the user can see what
the selections presented are.

Use the AfterUpdate event to set your form to the record with the
client ID.
