PC Crashes

P: n/a
We have a simple MSAccess97 database located on a file server.
We have a number of Win2000 machines accessing the database regularly.
On one particular machine it repeatdly crashes (no specific action carried
out)
We have completely reformatted and reinstalled everything and still it does
it on this one machine.
No other programs running on this machine are affected and it only crashes
when using Access.

Any help would be appreciated

Tony

Latest service packs/releases have been installed etc.

Since it only does it on this one machine, some basic trouble shooting steps
is all I can think of. Have you installed all of the office 97 patches? Have
you installed the newest version of Jet 3.51 (if so, do the others not have
it)? Have you installed all the Win2k patches? Is your video driver up to
date? Is your printer driver up to date? What is different about the
hardware on this computer and the others? Have you tried swapping memory
modules?

Is it just Access that is crashin? What kind of error message do you get?
Does it only happen when opening a form or report or module?

We actually have two machines in one office that have the identical setup
All Win2000 patches & service packs installed
MSOffice Service Releases installed
Have not installed the Jet 3.51 (but none of our machines have this)
Video/printer drivers are up-to-date.
All computers have varying hardware
We did think of the memory but because it ONLY ever happens in Access we had
discounted it - the machine runs a lot more memory hungry programs than
Access without problems.

does the computer in question have programs that the others don't? try
installing them one at a time til you may hit the one that triggers the
problem..

also, look at the network adapter, or the network link. try another
port on the hub/switch.
