Breakpoint on a button Click does not 'break' when button clicked

Hello --

My form's cmdCancel button requires 3 clicks before the code in Cancel_Click
fires.

Each click prior to that success moves the highlight to the next field in
the Tab order [a].

I placed a Breakpoint on the first command in the Click event ot cmdCancel.
It is hit after that third click of cmdCancel.

It is not possible to set a global variable on the MouseDown or KeyDown
event of cmdCancel so I can use it to Exit Sub on the Exit event of the
fields in [a].

Can someone suggest a way to find out why movement between fields occurs
instead of immediate execution of cmdCalcel's Click code?

Thanks for any help.

Larry Mehl
