duplicates

How do I query a db that has multiple entries with the same name but additional
info, so that I can pull mthat name only once?

example Date; ID; Name; Amount; Sate;
7/5/02; 99; Druids; $500; VA
9/7/03; 99; Druids; $150; VA

The name might appear many times,from 7/5/02 to 9/7/03, but I just want it
once.
in the output record

Kind regards

If your output just contains the name field then you set the 'Unique
values' property for the query.

Right-click on the grey query background (or click the Properties
toolbar button) to access the properties.

If you need other info as well as the name then you must define how to
select that data when you find duplicate names.

Use a Totals query, "Group By" the duplicate fields, use "Sum" or "Max" or
"First" on the non duplicate fields
