hi ng

I would like to make a database where the user automatically can send a
short message service (SMS) just by pressing a button. I know how to do it
if it is an email (by using the docmd.sendobject method) - but what code do
I need to send a SMS

Thanks in advance
Anne

are you sending it serially ? with http ?

if serially, you'll mscomm32.ocx or a third-party ocx
if via the net, this is an example (watch for wrapping)
http://www.planet-source-code.com/vb...odeAsText.asp?
txtCodeId=5746&lngWId=1

what network provider are you using ? AT&T ? others ?

if you go to http://www.planet-source-code.com and search for just
SMS, you get code samples...

Hi Roger

Thank you for your answer

Im not really sure what you mean by serially and http - I think it is
http. I tried the example below, but I can't get it to work (what do you
mean by watch for wrapping?) The code stops at: strCookie =
Left$(strCookie, InStr(strCookie, ";") - 1) Do you have an idea what could
be the problem?

Thanks
Anne

what was returned in strCookie ?
Left$(strCookie, InStr(strCookie, ";") - 1) is meant to grab
everything up to the semi colon, but if the string is null or has no
semi colon you're doing
a left$(strcookie, 0 - 1)... which is illegal

serially means that you have a data cable connected to a modem or
phone, which will be use to send sms messages

http means that you're using a 'net' web provider to send the message
