Reading a remote Access database without ASP

P: n/a
Is it possible to read (queries, tables...) from a remote database (ie,
using its URL) without using ASP? I mean, I would like to write a web page
which gets data from an Access db which actually resides on a web site. This
page should be run locally but may be eventually published on the web: the
code could be written in javascript or something like that. Thanks for your
answers.

look into .Net Remoting. Ingo Rammer has good articles on the web and has
also written a good book on the subject. His code examples are written in
C#

If the permissions on the host machine allow it, one can access databases
with HTML, JScript and ActiveX Objects. This may not be generally known, or
accepted. But it happens. I have an entire HTA application which requires
nothing but WindowsXP and its (included) IE and ADO.
