Custom Menu Bar Quirks

Perhaps this behavior of Access 97 is normal, but I would like to
know. In tailoring a Custom Menu Bar for use in Runtime, several of
the menu items I deselect always seem to reappear after the Runtime
version is installed. Such as under "Edit", deselected were OLE/DDE
Links, Paste Special and Paste Append, yet in Runtime they are listed,
albeit, grayed-out. There are other instances of this too. So I would
like to know why this happens and if there is a doable workaround for
it, aside from placing individual selections on the menu bar. Thanks,
Dalan
