OLE Server and ActiveX control

The problem is that when I try to open a combo box within a form, I
get this message:

A problem occurred while Microsoft Access was communicating with the
OLE server or ActiveX control.
Close the OLE server and restart it outside of Microsoft access. Then
try the original operation again in microsoft Access.

Does anybody knows what this is?

Thanks

No. But I'll take a guess. Open up a form, go to the code window,
select Tools, then References. What references to you have and what is
the order? In 97, my first 3 are
VBA
Access Object Library
DAO Object Library
