MSFT Access Unable to create MDE

We have an app running on Citrix which I am trying to turn into an MDE. It
is in Access 2000. The frontend application is now about 16 mb. The
backend database consists of tables linked into the frontend (its about 50
mb).

Whenever I use the tools / create MDE option, I get the cryptic error
message:

"Microsoft Access was unable to create an MDE database".

Not very helpful.

Does anyhave any idea what this can mean or any idea how to correct this
problem?

Many thanks,
Mike Thomas

Have you compiled the application? Open any module, click on Debug -
Compile. If your app won't compile, you cannot create an .mde

Thanks to both of you - decompiling and then compact, compile did the trick.
