Does Access know WebDAV?

I want an Access application to use an .mdb file
via WebDAV in a remote directory. The Access
documentation is silent as far as I can find.
I've received some opinions that since Office XP
adds more support for WebDAV, there may be a way
to do it from Access. But by experiment, I believe
the only way to do it is to write at the DAO layer.

I've been brainstorming IIS tricks to make the
WebDAV directory look like an ordinary location to
Access but haven't come up with anything promising.
Has anybody found an approach that I've missed?

I'm aware that I'll have best luck with the latest
XP versions of everything. And I'm aware there may
be data access page solutions, but those don't fit
well with the application.

Thanks for any experiences with WebDAV.

I don't know what WebDAV is, but I can tell you that the only successful use
of Access over the Web has been with Microsoft Terminal Services and/or
Citrix Metaframe, or for minimal use, a remote access software package such
as pcAnywhere or ReachOut. Alternatively, you can use your Jet database with
various server code and a web browser, but it isn't a "rich client" like
Access.

A split Access - Jet multiuser application is simply out of the question
because of the file-server nature of Jet -- all the extraction,
manipulation, and storage is performed from the user's machine. The remote
database file is used just as if it were on the local hard drive and Web
connections just aren't fast enough.

Thanks for the suggestions. We are already running tests on Citrix
as an alternative.

There's always ASP ... or even ASPX ... but it's not as rich a client
as you are probably looking for. (Though the .Net solutioins are
pretty impressive. It's something to consider.)
